Seeds: Donald J. Trump’s arguments and rhetoric seem to stir up a lot of contention, his poll numbers remain the highest of the Republican party. Many have argued that he feeds off an angry America, whereas others state that his candor is what keeps him on top. His rallies have become hot topics, given that he often discusses things that are off topic and sometimes even rude. Famous for his degrading remarks toward Megyn Kelly, a Fox News anchor, at an early debate, and his statement, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters,” Trump continues to startle, and in some cases impress, the American people.
Core: Here is a list of some of the more shocking incidents that have occurred in recent Trump rallies and interviews.
Most recently, he asked voters to pledge their loyalty to him at a rally.
His security personnel ejected Black Lives Matter protestors from a rally in New Orleans.
The highlight of thursday night’s debate was his defense of his “manhood.”
He hesitated in denouncing a prominent KKK member at an interview.
30 black students attending a rally at a university in Georgia were forced to leave.
Skin: All these things occurred just in the last week. Less than that even. With the startling media attention Trump is constantly getting, and even the blatant ridicule, he still manages to garner supporters. As the Republican nomination gets nearer and nearer, his support is only intensifying and his comments, even more blunt.
Leaves: Despite Trump’s base of extremely loyal supporters, his campaign tactics have caused a rift to form in the Republican party. Many established Republicans fear Trump’s nomination as the Republican nominee lol and have even attempted to decrease Trump’s popularity, even enlisting former GOP nominee, Mitt Romney, to address Trump’s candidacy. Regardless, the chances of Trump becoming the Republican nominee seems more likely with each passing day. In the meantime, we can only hope this particular tweet isn’t especially prophetic.
Food For Thought: What do you think of Trump’s character? Do you think his behavior are suitable for that of a potential leader of the United States? Do you think there is any action Trump could take that would cause him to lose voters?
